We want to highlight the news and updates that will be present in our programme for 2023 for Progetto Trieste – Veterinary Drug Residues.

NEW PROPOSALS

Round of March

Gentamycin and Nitrofurans in animal watering water: code WA3111. Also available as partial participations in case you are interested in only one of the proposed families.

Aminoglycosides in bovine muscle: code M3110. The PT was born from our customers’ requests.

Round of May

Natural hormones (progesterone, testosterone and 17-beta estradiol) in bovine serum: code SE3209. All the analytes will be present.

Round of September

Dapsone in swine muscle: code M3303/D. The presence of Dapsone is guaranteed.
Trimethoprim in swine muscle: code M3303/T. The presence of Trimethoprim is guaranteed.

Round of November

Amoxicillin (at residual level) in feed: code F3411. Carry-over level of contamination for non-medicated feed.
Sulphonamides and Oxytetracycline in medicated feed: code F3410. Concentration at level of use for veterinary purposes in medicated feed.

UPDATES FOR THE LISTS OF MOLECULES

beta-lactams (in all matrices) not only penicillin V, penicillin G, amoxicillin, ampicillin, cloxacillin, cefaprin, cefalexin, cefazolin, oxacillin (that are still included in the list) but also CEFACLOR and CEFOTAXIME. The presence of CEFACLOR is guaranteed in muscle and in fish.
beta-agonists (in all matrices) not only brombuterol, clenbuterol, cimbuterol, clenpenterol, mabuterol, salbutamol, terbutaline (that are still included in the list) but also ZILPATEROL .
sulphonamides (only in muscle) not only sulfamethazine, sulfadimethoxine, sulfaquinoxaline, sulfamerazine, sulfadiazine, sulfadioxine, sulfamethoxypyridazine, sulfamethoxazole, sulfamonometoxine, sulfathiazole (that are still included in the list) but also DAPSONE and TRIMETHOPRIM.
aminoglycosides (in muscle) not only dihydrostreptomycin, gentamycin (sum), spectinomycin, neomycin (that are still included in the list) but also STREPTOMYCIN .
synthetic steroids (in urine) not only 17α-19 nortestosterone, 17β-19 nortestosterone, 17α-boldenone,17 β-boldenone, 17α-trenbolone, 17β-trenbolone, methyltestosterone, stanozolol (that are still included in the list) but also ANDROSTENEDIONE .

ADVANTAGES

When evaluating your performances with Progetto Trieste proficinecy testing schemes you will have several advantages, among them:

International PTs: in 2022 participants were from 87 countries from all the continents.

Progetto Trieste is EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010 accredited and Test Veritas has 25 years of experience as a proficiency testing provider.

Separate evaluation for screening and confirmatory results, the assigned value derives only form quantitative confirmatory results. This feature of our PTs respects the requirement of UNI CEI EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010 to use fit-for-purpose methods of evaluation, makes the assigned value more reliable and the assessment more valid.

Even if you are using a screening method, the PT simulates what you would do in the routine (comparing your results with confirmatory ones).
Often the participation provides 2 different Test Materials, (they can be both contaminated or one of them could be blank). In the PT, as in the routine, the laboratory technician does not know if he/she is testing a contaminated material or a blank material. Providing 2 different Test Materials, the laboratory could be assessed also for False Positive results or for how the method operates at different leves of concentrations.
Participants that use a confirmatory method, receive the information about a possible False Positive in the Final Report.
