Do you want to check your performances for thyrostats analysis with a robust and stable Test Material?

The Proficiency Testing for the research of thyrostats has been introduced in our planning in 2021 and it was confirmed in 2022. In the two-year period we received around 40 subscriptions.

In 2022 we registered an increase in the percentage of z-score that resulted satisfactory compared to 2021 and the number of quantitative results obtained in 2022 was higher than in 2021.

We found an increase in consensus among participants in 2022: the results provided had less dispersion, which corresponds to a lower uncertainty in the assigned value determination.

Finally, in 2022 no laboratory registered a False Positive result for thyrostas, while in 2021 there were 2 laboratories that registered a False Positive result.

The performances of laboratories that are participating to our PTs improved over the years, thanks to the quality of our Test Materials that are stable and robust. In fact, the lyophilization of the Test Materials enable a more reliable assessment.

We are glad to repeat the PT for the research of Thyrostas in 2023 but with a new feature:

In the round of April 2023, the PT for the research of Thyrostas will be provided in combination with the PT for the research of Corticosteroids in bovine urine (code U3804).

White just one subscription you can participate for the research of Thyrostats and for Corsticosteroids (code U3804), but if a laboratory is interested in the research of only one of the two families it is possible to subscribe to partial participations:

• U3804/T partial participation for the research of Thyrostats.
• U3804/C partial participation for the research of Corticosteroids.

FEATURES

• Test Material: bovine urine, 2 samples for 18ml.
• Only for corticosteroids it will be possible to subscribe with screening methods (in this case 2 samples for 6ml will be provided).
• Corticosteroides: one or more that one of these molecules will be present: dexamethasone, betamethasone, flumethasone, prednisolone, prednisone, methylprednisolone, cortisol, beclomethasone, cortisone, triamcinolone, acetonide. One of the 2 Test Materials could be blank. It is not necessary to detect all the molecules under study. You will receive the evaluation only for the molecules that you have researched.
• Thyrostats one or more that one of these molecules will be present: 2-thiouracil, 6-methyl-2-thiouracil, methimazole (tapazole), 6-phenyl-2-thiouracil, 6-propyl-2-thiouracil. It is not necessary to detect all the molecules under study. One of the 2 Test Materials could be blank. You will receive the evaluation only for the molecules that you have researched.
• The assigned value derives only from confirmatory methods results, while screening methods results are assessed with dedicated criteria.

OUR STRENGHTS

• Test Veritas has more than 20 years of experience as a Veterinary Drug Residues PT provider.
• With one subscription you will receive the evaluation for both Thyrostats and Corticosteroids.
• For Corticosteorids relults abataneid with confirmatory methods are evaluated separately form relusts abtained with screening methods, the assigned value derives only from quantitative confirmatory results. The results obtanied with screening methods are evaluated with dedicated criteria.
• Our Test Material are lyophilized (to be tested after reconstitution), in order to guarantee the stability of the Test Materials, even for long shipment. In this way, regardless of the provenience of the laboratory, every participant can be sure to receive the exact same Test Material as the others. This will make the assigned value more reliable and the evaluation more valid.
• Often the participation provides 2 different Test Materials, (they can be both contaminated or one of them could be blank). In the PT, as in the routine, the laboratory technician does not know if he/she is testing a contaminated material or a blank material. Providing 2 different Test Materials, the laboratory could be assessed also for False Positive results or for how the method operates at different leves of concentrations.
• Participants that use a confirmatory method, receive the information about a possible False Positive in the Final Report.
