NEW 2023 PT: Ochratoxin A in pistachio

The new COMMISSION REGULATION (EU) 2022/1370, published on 5 August 2022 and officially entered into force on January 1st 2023, states: “Taking into account that Ochratoxin A has been found in foods for which no maximum level has yet been set and which contribute to human exposure to Ochratoxin A, it is appropriate to set a maximum level also for such foods, such as dried fruits other than dried grapes, certain liquorice products, dried herbs, certain ingredients for herbal infusions, certain oilseeds, pistachios and cocoa powder. “
In the annex of the Regulation overmentioned, the maximum Ochratoxin A content detectable in pistachios has been set at 5 ug/kg.

In light of this important update of the regulations at the European level, in order to meet the new market requirements, Test Veritas decided to implement a new PT:

PT for the research of Ochratoxin A in pistachio (water slurry)
(code N3511)

• Test Material: pistachio, 1 sample of 55g. Test Material will be supplied in slurry form to ensure homogeneity
• Analite: Ochratoxin A
• Indicative concentration: < 30ppb
• The Test Material is spiked;
• Shipping date: June 19th 2023
• For this PT, as for all those are part of Progetto Trieste – Mycotoxins is possible to submit 2 set of results and thus evaluate with one subscribtion 2 laboratory technicians, or 2 different techniques.
• The price is only 273,00€ for confirmatory methods and 199,00€ for participation with screening methods.

All laboratories registered for the PT for the research of Aflatoxins B/G in pistachio (code N3502A) will receive FREE OF CHARGE the participation for the NEW PT for Ochratoxin A in pistachio(code N3511A)!
