Always attentive to the precision and compliance needs of testing laboratories, Test Veritas is pleased to announce the introduction of the firsts Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) into its catalogue. This novelty was created to respond concretely to our customers’ requests, combining scientific reliability with daily ease of use.
As an organizer of interlaboratory Proficiency Testing (PTP) schemes accredited by ACCREDIA (in compliance with the EN ISO/IEC 17043:2010 standard and according to the requirements of document LS-04, which recalls the requirements of UNI CEI EN ISO 17034:2017), Test Veritas has always operated by applying rigorous scientific criteria. Although we are not currently accredited as an ISO 17034 Reference Material Producer, our entire production process operates in compliance with this standard. Normally, our control materials (CMs) are derived from the Test Materials characterized during the Progetto Trieste Proficiency Tests.
But this year, we are taking an important formal step by making our first two Certified Reference Materials available:
- WA5610/CRM – Boron in mineral water
- MI5700-2/CRM – Aflatoxin M1 in milk
What are the technical and practical advantages for your laboratory?
The distinctive feature of these new materials lies in their analytical certificate, in which the expanded uncertainty is declared. This is essential data for laboratories operating under ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation, as it allows them to:
- Guarantee metrological traceability, placing the material within the calibration chain of their instrumentation.
- Validate analytical methods and correctly estimate measurement uncertainty.
Each CRM is accompanied by a detailed technical datasheet, which is enriched compared to that of the CMs with additional technical data in strict compliance with the ISO 17034 standard.
