Commission Recommendation (EU) 2022/553 of 5 April 2022 identified on the relevant foodstuffs indicative levels for alternariol, alternariol monomethyl ether and tenuazonic acid beyond which in-depth investigations should be carried out into the factors determining the presence of Alterotoxis.
The foodstuffs identified by the European Union are tomatoes and tomato products, fruit and fruit products, nuts, dried figs, paprika powder, sesame and sunflower seeds, and cereal-based foods for infants and young children. Below is the Annex to Recommendation (EU) 2022/553:
Test Veritas has been internally developing processes for the preparation of stable and homogeneous materials for this analyte-matrix combination since 2018, and thanks to the contribution of all those who participated in our last survey concerning Alternaria toxins, it was possible to develop and implement a new interlaboratory circuit in our Mycotoxin catalogue for 2023.
